This project is for the redevelopment of Henle Village resulting in an increase of more than 200 student beds. The new Henle Village will include housing for 730 beds, increased health and wellness spaces, full apartments inclusive of kitchens, an increase in space for CAPS, amenity spaces and an exterior courtyard.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, Georgetown University hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of the latest residential redevelopment project on campus, Henle Village. University officials and neighborhood leaders from the Georgetown Community Partnership (GCP), as well as partners working on the project, were in attendance.
Nestled in the heart of the Georgetown campus, this environmentally-friendly community will offer residents new apartments and community gathering spaces designed with today’s students and the environment in mind. ACC serves as the third-party developer of the project.
The new building design is tracking LEED Platinum Certification, signifying the highest tier of energy efficiency, cost savings, and carbon emission reduction. This certification is issued by the U.S. Green Building Council, the industry leader in building sustainability.
To ensure the community meets the needs of today’s students, the university implemented a multi-faceted initiative to gather input from the university community, including students, campus stakeholders, and community leaders. Students in particular were invited to attend multiple engagement sessions to provide their thoughts on the project’s design, sustainability features, amenities, student accommodations and units.
