2025 Energy Olympics

Residence Halls will compete to reduce electricity usage through the Energy Olympics, a competition designed to raise awareness about residential electricity consumption and promote sustainable energy practices. Prizes are awarded to the residence that achieves the greatest reductions in electricity consumption during the designated competition period per division. All participants must complete the registration and post competition survey to be elligible for the prize.
Three Chances for Prizes
Prizes will be awarded based on the resident’s location on the last day of the division’s competition.
- Random registrant – a random person will win a prize for registering below.
- Post competition survey – a random person per division will win a prize for completing the post competition survey below. Even if your building didn’t win, you could get the prize!
- Division building winners – everyone that completes the registration, post competition survey and is a resident of the building that reduces the most electricity will win points towards WhatsaHoya for the First Year’s Division (must be a resident as of October 31st) and a pizza party and free giveaways for the Upper Class Hilltop & Capitol Division.
First Year’s Division
The First Year’s Division includes Copley, Darnall, Harbin, New South and Reynolds. These buildings will compete against their building’s September electricity consumption. The building that reduces the percent of electricity used from October 1st – October 31st the most will receive points towards WhatsaHoya if they complete the registration and post competition surveys. Upper Class Hilltop & Capitol Division
The Upper Class Hilltop and Capitol Division includes 55 H street, Alumni Square, Arrupe, Hayden & Byrnes, Nevils, LXR, Kennedy, McCarthy, Ryan & Hawkins, Townhouses, Village A, and Village C. These buildings will compete against their building’s September electricity consumption. The building that reduces the percent of electricity use from September to October the most in the monthly October billing period will receive a free pizza party and free giveaways if they complete the registration and post competition surveys.
