Masonry work on the bridge (cast stone panels and brick on columns) is scheduled to be complete by mid-June, 2026.

Event: As of Oct. 2, 2026, the Leavey Bridge has reopened to pedestrians. Tondorf Road and the pedestrian walkway underneath the bridge remain closed for repairs, which are expected to be completed in November 2026.
Impact: Community members may now utilize Leavey Bridge. There will be no pedestrian or vehicular traffic permitted under the bridge on Tondorf Road while repairs are completed. Accessible pathways can be found on the Georgetown campus map.
