Replacement of the Existing Riser Fuel Oil Piping in New Research Building

Start: Monday, August 24, 8 p.m.
End: Estimated End of September 2026
Impact: Starting Monday, Aug. 24, contractors will begin the replacement of the existing riser fuel oil piping in the New Research Building. To avoid disturbing typical daily operations, this work will take place at night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

Staff will need to enter labs and lab storage rooms as part of this work — those in impacted spaces (EG09, EG1, Ep07, E207, E307, E407 and E507) will be notified by the project team prior to the start of work. Efforts will be made to minimize disruption to work throughout the building. Work is scheduled to take place in the following spaces; however, the schedule is subject to change:
- Ground Level: Aug. 24-28
- Podium Level: Aug. 31-Sept. 4
- Level 2: Sept. 7-11
- Level 3: Sept. 14-18
- Level 4: Sept. 21-25
- Level 5: Sept. 28-Oct. 2
