The project encompasses a comprehensive interior redesign, including new flooring, wall treatments, seating, ceilings and lighting. Construction teams will also upgrade the audio and visual resources and install a new stage curtain and a large digital display.

Project Benefits

The project will encompass overall improvements to the McNeir Auditorium space. Additional improvements include: A new, expanded lobby; increased accessibility with a new stage ramp and a renovation of the existing restrooms; restoration of existing windows and the installation of interior storm windows to improve acoustic isolation; and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety upgrades, including new HVAC equipment and extended fire sprinkler coverage.

Construction Impacts

Standard working hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional construction noise may be heard by nearby building occupants. Additionally, the stairway between Old North Way and Harbin Terrace on the south side of New North will be closed for the duration of the project.
