Project Overview

Beginning in early May, we will be replacing the roof and renovating classrooms and corridors on the 2nd, 4th and 6th floors of Reiss. Please see the following details regarding each project by floor.

Second Floor

The second floor has been completed. All spaces are open and available for use.

Fourth Floor

The fourth floor has been completed. All spaces are open and available for use.

Sixth Floor

From approximately Monday, May 19 through late September, we will be demolishing the vacant labs and offices to make way for future improvements. The entire 6th floor will remain closed for an abatement and demolition.

The majority of this work will occur in the evenings and off-hours (approximately 5 p.m. – 3 a.m.) Several building outages will be required, and we will need to access some labs and offices on the 5th floor during these off hours. Advanced notice will be provided for each outage.

Roof

From approximately Monday, June 2 to late September, we will be replacing the roof. During this time, the building will remain open; however, there will be days where elevator use will be limited as one elevator will be designated for the contractor. We also may intermittently close some entrances as we replace the overhang roofs on the first and second levels.

The majority of this work will occur on Monday to Friday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.; however, it is expected that work will occur on Saturdays periodically throughout the summer. Extended hours from Monday to Friday are expected as well.

There will be intermittent drilling noises through June 27.

There will be a shared project dumpster onsite in the Reiss loading dock for the duration of the renovation project from May to October.

Throughout the project, there will be several days when Tondorf Road will be closed for a mobile crane, and some entrances and sidewalks will be closed. Advanced notice will be provided for days that require a crane.
