BIO: Mengistu Dessalgne earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of the District of Columbia and has a Certificate in Project Management from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. From October 1987 to September 1999, he worked at Georgetown University as a Utilities Analyst, where he performed technical data and fiscal analysis to monitor and forecast utility usage, aiming to achieve efficient and cost-effective energy use by the university. Since September 1999, he’s worked as a Network Administrator, where he oversees local area networks, building network control systems, and electrical data by collecting infrastructure and servers, and provides utility information system engineering and server management services to the University’s Utilities and Energy Programs division to ensure reliable and cost-effective network and infrastructure systems. He ensures designs for new building technology are compatible with current software and hardware, and reviews operations of new energy network system installations for compatibility with plans.
