BIO: Metaya Tilahun started her career with Georgetown University as part of the capital projects team in November of 2022. Metaya graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University  with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Architectural History. After graduating, Metaya worked as an architectural historian in Richmond VA where she worked on several architectural surveys at Phase I & II levels. Metaya then went on to pursue a career in Architecture and received her M.A. in architecture from the University of Notre Dame, where she focused her studies in classical architecture and traditional urban planning. Prior to joining GU, Metaya worked as an architectural designer for a small residential firm in Washington DC; where she worked on several custom residential homes in the area. She later went on to work on larger civic and commercial projects after joining a larger firm in the DC metro area. Metaya is enthusiastic about joining the team because it will let her apply her professional skills and natural talent in a client-supporting and leadership role. As a newer member of GU’s facility management, she is committed to cultivating long standing relationships with contractors, stakeholders and the overall GU community.
