Design Standards & Guidelines
This Georgetown University Design Manual and Facilities Standards document (Manual) provides uniform engineering and technical requirements for processes, procedures, practices, and methods that have been endorsed as standard for Georgetown University facilities, programs, and projects, including requirements for the selection, application, and design criteria of an item.
The goals for the Manual are as follows:
To identify areas where minimum code requirements are insufficient.
To identify and incorporate more stringent safety and performance requirements as part of all facility designs.
To codify design requirements specific to Georgetown University facilities and mission.
To standardize materials and equipment.
To provide guidance for a safe, high-performing campus, while allowing design creativity.
To establish a framework and single source document for future standards development and distribution.
Divisions 16-20 and 29-32 are not utilized in this Design Manual.
Questions or concerns pertaining to this Manual should be addressed to Adam Rogers (ar1626@georgetown.edu ) or Kevin Turner (ktt32@georgetown.edu ).
