Design Manual Revision and Variance Process
The Georgetown Design Manual and Facilities Standards was created to provide standardized requirements for design and facility projects happening across all Georgetown University campuses in the United States.
The diagram above details our revision and variance process for said the manual.
How often is the design manual reviewed?
Manual reviews happen on an annual basis. The team compiles all approved revisions and variances, and publishes them in the Fourth Quarter of the year.
I don’t think this section is quite right or is missing something. May I propose a change?
You absolutely can! Please fill out our change submission form (opens in new tab), and your proposed change submission will be reviewed by the committee. If it’s passed, it will be included for publishing in the next manual.
I understand what the manual is saying, but I believe an exception should be made for my project. How can I request a variance?
No problem, please fill out our variance request form (opens in new tab), and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
