• Canal Road Closure

  Dear Georgetown University Community,

  I write to inform you that DC Water has modified the Traffic Advisory affecting Canal Road as follows: Beginning on Wednesday June 21, 2017 through Wednesday June 28, 2017, DC Water will be making sewer system repairs along Canal Road. This will result in the closure of one westbound lane and one eastbound lane of Canal Road NW at the Georgetown University entrance. The lane closures will be in effect 24 hours a day from June 21-28, 2017.

  The Campus Community should expect delays entering and exiting campus via Canal Road during this time. More information can be found at dcwater.com/projects/foundrybranch.

• Annual Staff Recognition Luncheon & Unsung Heroes

  In March, the Planning & Facilities Management Team hosted our annual Staff Recognition Luncheon, an important event which celebrates our employees for their dedicated service and gives well-deserved recognition to exemplary performances. This year, team members received special acknowledgement from a Georgetown University organization, Unsung Heroes. The student organization, headed by Febin Bellamy and Harrison Williams, was created to promote awareness and appreciation for employees who often work behind the scenes to ensure that universities run smoothly, safely and efficiently.

  Friday, April 22nd marked the 46th annual Earth Day, a day in which more than 193 countries from around the globe come together to demonstrate their support for worldwide environmental protection. Here at Georgetown, we are celebrating Earth Month. As part of the month’s events, we held a Campus Sustainability Information Session to provide information about the university’s ongoing work to create a more environmentally sustainable campus.
